This action follows a deadly dawn raid by a large group of armed bandits on the communities of Wake and Gadanaji in Kaduna State’s Kachia Local Government Area.

The assault occurred around 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, as the assailants invaded Wake village, firing sporadically and unleashing violence on the residents. The attack resulted in a tragic loss of life, with several villagers confirmed killed.

The deceased have been identified as Elisha Pius, Japhet Bitrus, Obadiah Joshua, Luka Augustine, and Paul Augustine from Wake village, alongside Ezekiel Augustine, Ishaya Paul, and Bulus Bawa from Gadanaji village.

Many other individuals sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.

The wounded, including Sanda Christopher, Issac Elisha, Moses Christian, Godday Clement, Janet Godday, Sunday Nuhu, Zakariah Anthony, and Gideon Pius, were promptly evacuated by the troops. Some of the more critically injured have been referred to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna for advanced treatment.

Furthermore, an unspecified number of villagers were abducted during the attack and taken to unknown locations. In response, Nigerian Army have confirmed that combing operations have been intensified across the area.

The primary objectives of this operation are to safely rescue all those abducted and to track down and apprehend the perpetrators to prevent further attacks and bring them to justice.
