Nigerians have responded with a mix of reactions to the adjournment of the case involving prominent Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Recent reports have revealed that Bobrisky will remain in EFCC custody until Friday, April 12th, when the court is expected to deliver its verdict. This means that Bobrisky will spend the Muslim Eid celebration period in EFCC custody due to the three-day holiday declared by the federal government for Eid.

The news of Bobrisky’s extended detention has sparked diverse reactions from Nigerians, with some questioning the government’s perceived bias in handling his case. Others have drawn comparisons with the situation of Very Dark Man, who spent Easter in prison, while some have resorted to mocking Bobrisky’s predicament.

One social media user, Chester Nation, humorously commented on Bobrisky’s situation, suggesting that the crossdresser’s beauty routine might suffer in custody.

Another individual, Hazeemat Bakare, raised suspicions about the authenticity of Bobrisky’s predicament, implying that the crossdresser might have orchestrated the drama to garner attention or maintain relevance.

Meanwhile, Phaity drew parallels between Bobrisky’s detention during Eid and Very Dark Man’s incarceration during Easter, highlighting the irony of the situation.

Bobrisky’s arrest and subsequent detention by the EFCC stem from allegations related to currency mutilation and naira abuse. He was apprehended on April 3rd at his residence in Pinnock Estate, Lagos, following a video that purportedly showed him spraying money at Eniola Ajao’s Ajakaju movie premiere.
