The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a mix of thunderstorms, sunshine, and slight dust haze across various parts of the country from Monday to Wednesday, urging citizens to take safety precautions.
In the northern region, slight dust haze is expected on Monday, accompanied by possible afternoon and evening thunderstorms in parts of Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna States. By Tuesday and Wednesday, sunny and hazy skies are anticipated to persist, with isolated thunderstorms in Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa, Sokoto, and Kebbi.
For the North Central region, NiMet predicts sunny skies with patches of clouds from Monday to Wednesday, alongside isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon or evening in parts of Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, and Benue States.
In the southern region, cloudy skies are anticipated, with chances of isolated morning thunderstorms in parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom States. Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected across most parts of the southern regions.
NiMet has advised the public to take necessary precautions due to the suspended dust particles in the air and warned that strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through weather updates from NiMet and adhere to safety advisories issued by relevant authorities.
