Mrs Caroline Adepoju, the Nigeria Immigration Service’s acting Comptroller General, has cautioned parents and young women about unauthorised migration, which has cost the lives of many young Nigerians.

At the 20th Outreach of the August Girls’ Assembly, one of the biggest gatherings of girls in Ibadan, Oyo State, Adepoju issued the warning.

The Worth-in-Womanhood division of the Vine Branch Church Ministry reportedly planned the outreach, which had the topic “Christian Culture,” according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Adepoju pointed out that unauthorised immigrants confront various challenges, including harsh weather conditions and animals who either prey on them or crudely remove their organs for sale.

Adepoju forewarned that:

“Parents protect your children from those who want to exploit them by luring them abroad.

“And, girls don’t follow anyone who wants to take you abroad by road without telling your parents”.

She urged the girls to confront their academics, work hard, and have fear of God.

She advised them not to surround themselves with negative people and drug users.

“Use the Internet wisely, and don’t go to negative sites. Don’t do anything you don’t want anybody to know on the Internet. Don’t expose yourselves to exploitation.

“Obey your parents, especially parents that are godly and God-fearing should be obeyed,” she stated.

Around 1,500 girls at AGA reportedly received instruction on topics including safety, christian character, sexuality education, and life and soft skills, according to NAN.
