The Nigeria Labour Congress has confirmed the postponement of its ongoing strike following the intervention of President Bola Tinubu and the Senate.

The resolution was passed following the National Executive Council meeting of the Congress.

The national treasurer, Hakeem Ambali, stated in a brief message to our reporter this morning (Thursday),

Initially, the NLC stated that it would only cease its strike if the government showed sincerity.

During the rally in Abuja on Wednesday, irate protestors tore down the gates of the National Assembly in an attempt to gain entrance to the grounds in order to meet with MPs.

Following the meeting with Tinubu, NLC President Joe Ajaero stated that the President had made certain pledges.

The workers union will update the public shortly.
