The Nollywood community is in mourning following the death of Yusuf Olorungbebe, a well-respected actor and production manager.

In a recent update on her Instagram page, Foluke Daramola Salako shared the heartbreaking news of Yusuf Olorungbebe’s demise. Her post, which reads, “WE LOST YUSUF OLORUNGBEBE. We submit to God’s Will. Thank You Everyone!” reflects her deep sorrow and gratitude for the support received during Olorungbebe’s final days.

Prior to his death, Foluke Daramola had made a passionate appeal to the public to support Yusuf Olorungbebe financially. She had shared a distressing video of the actor in a hospital bed, revealing that he was on life support and urgently needed assistance. Foluke’s plea included his account details, emphasizing that every donation, no matter how small, was crucial for his survival.

Over the years, Foluke Daramola has been a vocal advocate for the welfare of ailing veterans in Nollywood. Her dedication to supporting her colleagues has been evident in several instances. Recently, she had called for help for veteran actress Obiqgheli Molobe, who was suffering from a partial stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Foluke’s efforts included urging the public to assist Obiqgheli and her children financially.

In December of last year, Foluke Daramola took her advocacy a step further by writing an open letter to President Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. She highlighted the struggles faced by many veteran actors, particularly in terms of health and financial instability. Her letter called for the establishment of a trust fund to provide ongoing support for Nollywood veterans.
