The Abia State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Gladys Adama, has charged 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members to approach their service year with dedication, integrity, and a strong commitment to national development.

She gave this advice during the closing ceremony of the three-week orientation program at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Umunna, Bende Local Government Area.

Mrs. Adama cautioned the corps members against engaging in communal conflicts, financial irresponsibility, or unnecessary night travels, emphasising that such actions could jeopardise their safety and undermine the objectives of the NYSC scheme.

She urged corps members to remain vigilant and uphold the values of the program, warning that any misconduct could tarnish both their reputation and the image of NYSC.

The State Coordinator commended the corps members for their discipline and active participation throughout the orientation exercise, noting that the skills and values acquired during the training would guide them throughout their service year.

She encouraged them to be agents of positive change in their host communities by contributing meaningfully to local development initiatives.

Highlighting the importance of cultural integration, Mrs. Adama advised the corps members to respect the traditions and norms of their host communities while fostering unity in diversity.

She reminded them that their service year presents a unique opportunity to build bridges across Nigeria’s diverse ethnic and religious groups.

The NYSC Abia office reiterated its commitment to supporting corps members throughout their service year while ensuring adherence to the scheme’s rules and regulations.
