Nigerian billionaire businessman Obi Cubana has responded to the backlash surrounding the next-of-kin saga involving his adopted son, Chidi.
Earlier, Chidi had claimed to be the billionaire’s next of kin, sparking widespread debate on social media. In response, Obi Cubana took to Instagram to subtly clear the air by posting a photo of his biological son, Alex, whom he referred to as his “original next of kin.”
However, in a more inclusive and heartfelt follow-up, the entrepreneur shared a series of photos with all his sons, including Chidi, from his 50th birthday celebration. Accompanying the photos, Obi Cubana wrote:
We vibe, we bond, we cruise, they talk! Last last, all of us na next-of-kin.”
The billionaire’s wife, Lush Eby, also weighed in on the saga. In her statement, she noted how social media has become a space where strangers fabricate histories and criticize families based on unfounded assumptions. Remaining unbothered, she shared that her focus was on celebrating her husband’s milestone birthday throughout the month.
Obi Cubana’s family dynamic further captured attention at his birthday event when he publicly corrected his son for showing perceived disrespect toward Labour Party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Peter Obi. The businessman emphasized the importance of respect, earning praise for his parenting style.
