The government of Ogun State has declared its commitment to ending land grabbing and fostering an atmosphere that would allow investors to prosper in the state.

It said that anyone implicated in the crime would face legal consequences from the task force established to pursue land grabbers.

According to a statement released on Friday, Bolu Owotomo, the Commissioner for Agriculture Development and Food Security, promised that all communal issues pertaining to acquired agricultural land will be resolved during a visit to the Oke-Odan Oil Palm Cluster and the palace of Olowo of Owoland in the Yewa South Local Government Area of the State.

He emphasised that the current administration was committed to ensuring investors felt at ease while they conducted business.

Owotomo stated that the purpose of the visit was to assist, interact with, and motivate investors to adhere to the conditions of their agreement with the state government.

He added that land acquired for agricultural purposes should be used for that purpose alone. He also gave them advice on how to work together as a group through shared service, develop corporate social responsibility projects that would positively affect the host communities, and make sure that their ground rent was paid on time.
