In Ogun State, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) honoured 155 recently promoted officers. Idowu Ojelabi, the NSCDC Commandant in Ogun, honoured the officers in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He said the corps’ promoted officers included some who had been stationary for years without advancement.
Ojelabi praised the NSCDC Commandant-General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for promoting officers quickly, particularly the “promotion of officers that have been stagnant on certain ranks, nationwide.
“For instance, in Ogun State Command, we graciously have a total of 155 personnel that were elevated from one rank to another, including those who have been stagnant for a while.”
Ojelabi stated that the NSCDC director tried his utmost to alleviate the long-term suffering of stagnating officers by revitalizing the promotion procedure and completing legitimate screening and testing.
He urged the recently promoted senior officers in Ogun State command. To reciprocate by assuming the duties of their new positions.
He charged the newly promoted officers to “work professionally. To further cement the positive perception already enjoyed by the Corps in the Gateway State”.
