The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has assured that there will be no delays in filling all vacant positions within the Olubadan chieftaincy line following the passing of the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin.
Ladoja made the declaration while receiving the Asipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, at his Lagos residence. The meeting was detailed in a statement issued by his media aide, Adeola Oloko, and made available to journalists on Monday.
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, acknowledged that he was not in Ibadan when Oba Olakulehin joined his ancestors, but took the opportunity to pay tribute to the late monarch.
He described the departed king as a leader who lived an impactful life and served with distinction. “Kabiyesi Olakulehin gave a good account of himself, and his legacy will endure,” Ladoja stated. Emphasising the importance of continuity in the traditional institution, he affirmed, “There will be no delay in filling every pending vacancy in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.”
During the visit, Oba Kola-Daisi offered his condolences to Ladoja and pledged his unwavering loyalty and support to the incoming Olubadan. The gesture underscored the unity and hierarchical structure within the Ibadan traditional council, particularly during the transition period.
