The 2023 Globe Soccer Awards have nominated Barcelona Femeni forward Asisat Oshoala and Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen took home the 2022 edition of the Emerging Player of the Year award.
The striker will compete for the coveted prize against Robert Lewandowski, Nicolò Barella, Jude Bellingham, Karim Benzema, Yassine Bounou, Antoine Griezmann, Ilkay Gundogan, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The other candidates are Luka Modric, Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kim Min-Jae, Lautaro Martínez and Vinícius Jr.
The Super Falcons’ Oshoala received a nomination for the Women’s Best Player award.
The forward played with Barcelona Femeni, who took home the UEFA Women’s Champions League title the previous year.
The winner will be decided through an online voting process, with the Gala event scheduled for January 19, 2024.
