Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles into Israel in an unprecedented strike overnight, wounding at least 12 people, an Israeli army official said on Sunday.
“Last night, Iran fired over 300 ballistic missiles, UAVs, and cruise missiles towards Israel,” military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a televised statement, revising a previous estimate of more than 200 launches.
Hagari stated that 170 drones and 30 cruise missiles were launched, but none of them penetrated Israeli land. Additionally, 110 ballistic missiles were fired, although only a handful of them reached Israel.
In a second statement, the Israeli military stated that “dozens of surface-to-surface missile launches” were detected, with the vast majority intercepted before entering Israeli land.
A seven-year-old girl from a Bedouin hamlet in the southern town of Arad was among those injured, and she was in intensive care, according to the medical facility that received her.
