Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has announced the immediate discontinuation of live broadcasts for the church’s services.
The decision, which took effect this Sunday, marks a significant shift in the ministry’s approach to public engagement after years of streaming its programs online.
Explaining the move during a service at the church’s headquarters in Abuja, Pastor Enenche stated that the church leadership sought to refocus on in-person worship and spiritual encounters without digital distractions.
He emphasised that the presence of physical congregants should take priority over online viewership, noting that virtual attendance had begun to affect the depth of members’ spiritual commitment.
The pastor clarified that this change does not signify a complete withdrawal from digital platforms, as sermon excerpts and selected messages may still be shared online for wider reach.
However, full live transmissions of services will no longer be available. Church officials confirmed that recorded versions of messages might be uploaded after services for members unable to attend physically.
This development has generated mixed reactions among Dunamis members, with some expressing disappointment while others support the emphasis on physical fellowship. The decision comes amid broader discussions in religious circles about balancing technology with traditional worship practices.
Dunamis International Gospel Centre, known for its large following across Nigeria and beyond, has maintained consistent live broadcasts since expanding its digital presence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Church administrators assured members that the adjustment aligns with a divine direction to strengthen personal spiritual discipline and church community bonds.
