Nigerian singer Paul Okoye is in high spirits as his elder brother, Jude Okoye, regains freedom after spending over two months in EFCC custody.
Taking to his Instagram story on Wednesday, Paul shared the joyous moment Jude walked out of detention, reuniting with his emotional wife in a heartwarming scene. The singer accompanied the video with a sharp message, addressing the alleged attempts to delay Jude’s bail, which he declared had finally failed.
Jude is finally out after 2 months plus. All their efforts to frustrate his bail have finally collapsed. Welcome home, brother. And happy birthday,” Paul wrote.
Jude Okoye’s release marks the end of a challenging period that began with his arraignment at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi last month. He faced allegations of involvement in a ₦1.38 billion fraud case brought by the EFCC. Justice Alexander Owoeye had set stringent bail conditions, including providing two sureties with significant assets and barring him from international travel.
The release comes amid a backdrop of lingering family disputes between the Okoye brothers, famously known as Psquare. Paul previously accused his twin brother, Peter, of orchestrating his and Jude’s arrest by the EFCC in December 2023. However, Peter denied these claims, citing unresolved family tensions and alleging that Paul and Jude worked against him during the group’s fallout.
Jude, in his defense, has distanced himself from the ongoing conflicts between his younger brothers, lamenting the lack of respect and understanding in their relationship.
