Paul Scholes, a former player for Manchester United, has named Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante as the player who can help manager Frank Lampard secure a permanent position as Blues manager at Stamford Bridge.
Following Graham Potter’s dismissal, Lampard was appointed Chelsea’s interim manager for the remainder of the campaign. Scholes acknowledged being taken aback by Lampard’s return to Chelsea. However, he thinks it is advantageous for Lampard to have Kante in his team.
He also said that the former midfield maestro could take his opportunity at the West London club.
“I was a bit surprised [by Lampard’s return], especially with the way it ended at Chelsea,” Scholes told BT Sport.
“His Everton time did not go great, but you can’t blame Frank, he has got to take this opportunity.
“One thing that is good for Frank is they have got N’Golo Kante back. He’s only played two games but makes a huge difference to the team.”
