The Nigerian police have reportedly summoned Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, over allegations of failing to return a rented wig. The reality star faced criticism online after a hair vendor accused her of renting a wig and not returning it.
In a recent update, Phyna claimed that the hair vendor, accompanied by two policemen and another woman, visited her house in her absence and dropped a letter inviting her to the police station in Ogudu. Phyna, who was unfamiliar with the location, expressed her intention to find out more about it.
In her Instagram live video, Phyna addressed the accusations, calling the vendor a “clout chaser” and suggesting that her management team might have handled the wig transaction without informing her. She claimed to have paid for the arrangement while abroad and attended the event with the wig upon her return, unaware of any return arrangements.
The ongoing drama has attracted attention on social media, with Phyna expressing weariness at constant online criticism. The situation escalated after screenshots were shared, showing negotiations between Phyna’s team and the wig vendor, who accused her of not returning the rented wig.
Phyna’s arch-enemy, Blessing Okoro, took the opportunity to mock her and advised Phyna to take legal action if the accusations were baseless, suggesting a defamation of character suit.
