Anti Cultism and Kidnapping Squad, ACKS of Cross River state led by SP Ogini Chukwuma arrested a notorious kidnapping kingpin terrorizing the metropolis of Calabar and its environs, as well as parts of Akwa Ibom, Kufre Ekpo Etim aka Romance.
Vanguard believes that the kidnapper king and armed robber who has killed and kidnapped dozens of doctors, especially medical doctors, a lecturer, a businesswoman (Mrs Abomina), and a wife of a popular journalist was arrested by Ogini’s Men behind UNICROSS at about 3:00 pm on Tuesday.
According to Vanguard’s findings, an undercover AKCS investigation team took action after receiving credible information that Romance, who had been on the government/police wanted list for three years, was in the area.
A security source, who requested anonymity, said he was arrested after a shootout.
Cross River State Police Commissioner CP Sule Balarabe, who confirmed the arrest when contacted by phone late Tuesday, said it was a big win for police, the government and the good people of the state.
“The notorious kidnap kingpin has been terrorizing Cross River and part of a neighbouring state for years, we are glad that he has been apprehended, he has been on the wanted list for three years and we finally picked him up, ” CP Sule said.
