Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has officially launched an investigation into the tragic death of a man identified as Mr. Ik Ojo, who was allegedly discovered dead in circumstances suggesting suicide.

The incident occurred in the Kagini area of Dei-Dei, Abuja, where the lifeless body of the resident was found hanging in his room on Friday.

The discovery has prompted mixed reactions, as some eyewitnesses, whose accounts were captured in a widely circulated video, have raised suspicions of foul play.

These individuals have insinuated that the scene may have been staged and that Mr. Ojo could have been killed by another party before his body was hung.

In response to the report, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, issued a statement confirming that the command has initiated a full probe into the incident.

According to the statement, upon receiving the report on Friday, operatives from the Dei-Dei Division were promptly deployed to the scene. The officers processed the location and subsequently evacuated the victim’s body to Kubwa General Hospital. A medical doctor at the facility officially confirmed Mr. Ojo’s death.

The body has been placed in the hospital’s mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.

The Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command has directed that a thorough and discreet investigation be carried out to establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident. The police spokesperson assured the public that further details would be provided as the investigation progressed.
