136,177 candidates for the ongoing police recruiting exercise have already been screened, according to the Police Service Commission.
It said that 108,768 of the 136,177 applicants examined were successfully uploaded, with the discrepancy due to problems/challenges caused by fluctuating networks.
PSC, in a statement issued on Tuesday by Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations, stated that the Police Service Commission, through the Police Recruitment Board, is currently screening 416,270 Nigerian youths who have expressed interest and applied for a career in the Nigeria Police Force, with the candidates subjected to physical and credentials screening.
He said that in order to assure its credibility and provide a quantifiable benchmark for the final selection of successful applicants, the Commission has modernised and automated the procedures in conjunction with the ongoing recruiting operation.
He stated that the Commission’s Situation Room, which is set up and run by the Commission, monitors the real-time transfer of the screening exercise’s results to its site.
According to him, the National Coordinator for the recruiting process, Solomon Arase, the PSC Chairman, has conveyed his contentment with the dedication of the commission personnel, police officers, and other members of the Police recruiting Board.
He attested to the noteworthy improvement in uploading and screening rates as well as the addition of a daily report with numbers.
Arase commended the field workers and encouraged them to “maintain this momentum and strive for even greater achievements.”
He reassured the applicants that they should not worry and that they would all be screened before the screening period ended, adding that he was aware of the tremendous traffic at the screening facilities.
