2. The newly appointed IGP had also been the state’s police chief in Lagos State.

3. In June 1987, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Lagos in Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.

4. Egbetokun was a lecturer at the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos before to joining the Nigeria Police Force.

5. He also has an MBA from Lagos State University, Ojo, a Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Economics from Delta State University, Abraka, and an MSc in Engineering Analysis from UNILAG.

6. Egbetokun held the positions of Squadron Commander of Mopol 5 in Benin City, Squadron Commander of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Fraud Unit at FCT Command in Abuja, Chief Superintendent of Police for Administration at the Ikeja headquarters of the Lagos State Command, and Area Commander at Osogbo under the Osun State Command.
