Portable Cries Out as Government Seals His Building and Hotel Over Permit Issues

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has expressed frustration after his uncompleted building and hotel were sealed by the government for allegedly lacking an approval permit.

Taking to Instagram, Portable shared his dismay, stating that over 20 artists, customers, cars, bikes, and phones were seized during the operation. He described the incident as a setback for his efforts to support his community, including providing lighting, repairing roads, and creating job opportunities through his business.

In his post, Portable passionately called on the government to review the situation. He explained that his facility wasn’t just a bar but a hub for booking events, shows, and promoting talents.

I believe in Eledumare. Nobody can fail me, Ọmọ Olohun,” he wrote.

The singer pointed out the irony of being penalized despite his contributions to the local infrastructure, saying, “I put light everywhere and even called the government to help with road repairs before they came.” Portable added that he was attacked at his residence but maintained faith, insisting that “God pass them.”

This isn’t the first time Portable has clashed with authorities. In August, he repaired roads in Sango-Ota, using a tractor to address the poor conditions himself. Last year, he publicly criticized Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun after a bad road in Sango-Ota nearly caused an accident with his Range Rover. Portable claimed his outburst earned him a N2 million compensation, and the governor promised to address the state’s road issues.

Portable later visited the ongoing Atan-Lusada-Agbara road project, applauding the government’s efforts. However, the recent sealing of his property has reignited his dissatisfaction, as he continues to seek resolution.
