The Anglican Diocese of Enugu has encouraged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expand his administration’s anti-corruption campaign to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC Ltd, and other government agencies, ministries, and parastatals.
The third session of the Anglican Communion’s Diocese of Enugu’s 18th Synod published a statement on Sunday. The Synod occurred from Thursday, June 29, to Sunday, July 2, 2023, in the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd in Enugu.
According to the statement signed by the Most Rev. Dr. E.O. Chukwuma, Archbishop/Bishop of Enugu, Prof. Offornze D. Amucheazi, SAN, Chancellor, Ven. Dr. Stanley Nweze, Synod Secretary, and H.B.C Ogboho Esq, Registrar.
The Synod expressed optimism that the investigators would make the findings public and expand the inquiry to include other institutions such as INEC, NNPC, and other Federal Government political appointees from the previous government.
It also raised worry over the judiciary’s reputation in the country.
