The estranged wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Queen Dami, has responded to allegations made by Adeyemi Adebisi Aminat, the late monarch’s daughter, regarding her son’s paternity.
The exchange has sparked renewed controversy surrounding the former queen’s personal life and her relationship with the late Alaafin.
Last week, Adeyemi Adebisi Aminat accused Queen Dami of not knowing the father of her child, claiming the former queen allegedly purchased the child from Port Harcourt. Aminat expressed her frustration, pointing out the irony of Dami shaming others about paternity issues while allegedly having her own unresolved questions. She also emphasized that the Alaafin’s throne must be treated with respect and warned Dami not to tarnish its reputation.
In her response, Queen Dami refuted the allegations, stating that Aminat’s claims were rooted in personal animosity from their time in the palace. Dami revealed that while she was married to the late monarch, she was not permitted to work but secretly sold fabrics online to support herself.
I am ready to have a DNA test done on my son,” Dami declared, challenging Aminat to substantiate her accusations. She also threw shade at Aminat, noting that despite having two children, the late king’s daughter was also not in a husband’s house.
Dami added,
She came out because she saw that I wanted to go back to Portable. I was not the first Queen to leave Alaafin’s palace.”
Queen Dami’s marriage to the late Alaafin of Oyo ended after she reportedly broke palace rules, leading her to leave the palace. She later expressed regret over the incident, attributing her actions to frustration and bad advice.
After the monarch’s death, Queen Dami publicly moved on with Nigerian singer Portable, who confirmed their relationship in 2023. Portable revealed that their connection began after the monarch’s passing, denying any involvement with her during her marriage.
In 2023, Dami made headlines by sharing a heartfelt Valentine’s Day tribute to Portable, describing him as her man and expressing her love openly on social media. Their relationship has since drawn significant public attention, adding another layer to the queen’s already eventful life.
