After knocking Chelsea out of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening, Real Madrid has been dealt a double injury setback. Karim Benzema and David Alaba received injuries during their Champions League quarterfinal second-leg victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. this is in recent news according to manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Due to the injury, Benzema and Alaba might miss a few of Real Madrid’s upcoming games.
Rodrygo scored twice to help Real Madrid defeat Chelsea 4-0 aggregate in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. Benzema and Alaba were replaced because of injury, so it wasn’t all good news for the La Liga champions.
However, Ancelotti has since revealed that Alaba was substituted at halftime due to a hamstring problem. Benzema however suffered a foot injury in the first half. It was a result of a stomp on his foot by Chelsea defender Thiago Silva.
“Alaba has had a problem, his hamstring was tight and we had made the change at the end of the first half.
