The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board (CDCFIB) has announced a further postponement of its online recruitment exercise for paramilitary agencies until July 21, 2025.

This marks the second rescheduling of the recruitment process, which was initially planned to commence on July 2 before being moved to July 14.

Retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jubril, Secretary of the CDCFIB, explained that the additional one-week delay is necessary to optimise the recruitment portal’s performance.

The technical upgrade aims to handle the overwhelming number of applications while ensuring a seamless, transparent, and equitable recruitment process for all candidates.

The board manages recruitment for four key paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Federal Fire Service.

These organisations play critical roles in national security, public safety, and border management.

Jubril acknowledged the remarkable enthusiasm shown by Nigerian youths seeking to serve their country through these agencies. He assured applicants that the temporary suspension would ultimately result in an improved application experience and more reliable system performance when the portal reopens.

The recruitment portal, which has experienced heavy traffic since its launch, will undergo capacity enhancements to better manage the large volume of prospective applicants. The CDCFIB emphasised its commitment to conducting a merit-based recruitment exercise that gives equal opportunities to all qualified Nigerians.

Aspiring candidates are advised to use the extension period to prepare their required documents and ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before the new application date of July 21. The board promised to provide regular updates as the recruitment process progresses.
