The Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Command, Garba Ahmed, has urged 280 newly trained police constables to uphold discipline and avoid actions that could jeopardize their careers and the reputation of the force.

Ahmed gave the charge while welcoming the officers—comprising 245 General Duty personnel and 35 Specialist Cadre officers—at the Command’s headquarters.

In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the CP congratulated the constables for successfully completing their six-month training at the Police Training College in Maiduguri.

He emphasized the importance of professionalism, respect for human rights, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

“The constables will be deployed to their local areas of origin in line with the Community Policing strategy but may be reassigned to other parts of the state as needed,” Ahmed stated.

He also directed senior officers to provide mentorship and close supervision to facilitate a smooth transition for the new recruits.

The Commissioner of Police further appealed to the public for continued cooperation in maintaining security and ensuring peace across the state.
