Renowned Bollywood Actor and Director Satish Kaushik Passes Away at 66.

Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik has passed away at the age of 66. According to his nephew Nishaan Kaushik, the actor suffered a heart attack on March 9th, 2023, in Delhi, India.

Satish Kaushik was a well-known figure in Indian cinema. He achieved international recognition for his role in the 2007 British drama “Brick Lane.” Born in Delhi in 1956, Kaushik studied theatre at Kirori Mal College. He later attended the National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India. He began his directing career in 1993, but his first two Bollywood films, “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” and “Prem,” were commercial failures.

Over the course of his long and distinguished career, Kaushik worked on nearly 100 films. His last film, “Kaagaz,” was released in 2021 and followed the story of a man who is mistakenly declared legally dead by the government and must prove his identity.

Kaushik is survived by his wife Shashi Kaushik, whom he married in 1985. The couple had a son who passed away in 1996 and welcomed a daughter, Vanshika, via surrogate in 2012.

Kaushik’s close friend and fellow Bollywood actor Anupam Kher paid tribute to him on Twitter, saying,

Such a sudden full stop on friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!”

The news of Satish Kaushik’s death has been met with sadness and condolences from fans and colleagues in the film industry.
