Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has proclaimed that the state under his leadership is based on a revolutionary effort to remain true to the truth rather than party allegiance.
He addressed the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, chaired by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The governor stated that he will not be sidetracked by the deliberate blackmail and sabotage directed against his government.
He said that, despite being the most vilified governor in the country, he had purposely suffered such invectives in order to remain focused on the delivery of democratic dividends in the state, emphasising that those trying to cause a crisis in the state would fail.
According to Governor Fubara:
“In our state today we are no longer doing party. We are doing a movement, so you don’t blame me if I don’t go to the side of party too much.
“The party has failed us here, so what we are doing here is to stand with our two legs on the soil of Rivers State, so that we can defend democracy.”
