The National Industrial Court of Nigeria has approved the reinstatement of a lecturer at Ekiti State University, Dr Ololade Aduwo. This is the judgment of the NICN, Akure Division Case No. NICN/AK/08/2020 was filed by Aduwo against his EKSU VC, the EKSU Board and the University for his dismissal from the University’s services over what he described as a phantom sexual allegation.

Judge Kiyersohok Damulak said in his judgment of 8 February 2023 that his dismissal of Aduwo by letter dated 5 December 2019 was “unjustified, null and void”.

“From the date the plaintiff was dismissed to today’s date of judgment he ordered reinstatement to full employment entitlement with pay and benefits until February 8, 2023, and thereafter”.

The Court also ordered EKSU to pay the plaintiff’s (Aduwo’s) costs of N300,000.
