The Senate has begun vetting candidates for Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff.
The service chiefs are as follows:
- Chief of Defense Staff – Major General Christopher Musa
- Chief of Army Staff – Major General Taoreed Lagbaja
- Chief of Naval Staff – Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla
- Chief of Air Staff – Air Vice Marshall Hassan Abubakar
The screening came after President Bola Tinubu submitted the formal nominations of the CDS and service chiefs to the Senate on Tuesday.
President Bola Tinubu asked the Senate on Tuesday to examine and confirm the CDS and Service Chiefs’ nominations for substantive appointments.
