Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has found himself at the center of controversy following rapper Eedris Abdulkareem’s revelation about his alleged regrets in supporting President Tinubu.
Abdulkareem claimed in an interview that Seyi Law confided in him, expressing remorse for his past endorsement of President Tinubu during the general election.
Seyi Law, who was notably vocal in his support for President Tinubu during the election, allegedly disclosed to Abdulkareem that he regretted his decision. According to Abdulkareem, Seyi Law cited insults and curses he received from the public, as well as a decline in financial support at his shows, as reasons for his change of heart.
However, Seyi Law swiftly responded to these claims, expressing his affection for Abdulkareem while vehemently denying the allegations. He questioned the authenticity of Abdulkareem’s account, calling for evidence and clarification regarding the timing and context of the alleged conversation.
In a twist, a video surfaced online purportedly showing Seyi Law echoing sentiments similar to those described by Abdulkareem during a recent performance. The video prompted further scrutiny and raised questions about Seyi Law’s stance on the matter.
Addressing the video, Seyi Law reiterated his denial, emphasizing the distinction between humour and reality. He challenged the interpretation of his comments, emphasizing that they were made in jest and should not be misconstrued as genuine regrets or reflections on his support for President Tinubu.
