Sophia Momodu, mother of Imade Adeleke and first baby mama of music star Davido, has fired back at a Snapchat user who suggested her daughter might be insecure about her teeth.
The drama began when Sophia shared playful videos of herself and Imade on Snapchat. A user questioned why Imade wasn’t laughing freely, speculating that she might be insecure about her teeth, despite having a beautiful smile.
In response, Sophia dismissed the comment, emphasizing her daughter’s confidence and heritage as “Imade Adeleke.” She criticized the fan for projecting insecurities and fake concerns onto a child, stating:
“Worry about your damn self! She is Imade Adeleke! Sophia Momodu’s daughter!! She is doing just fine and has had more confidence than most of y’all since day zero! Back up off my child with your fake comments and projecting!”
Sophia further expressed her frustration with the negativity she often receives online, noting that such behaviors are why she prefers sharing content on her private Snapchat. She also called out the disrespectful behavior she observes in many Nigerians.
This isn’t the first time Sophia has addressed online scrutiny. Recently, she expressed excitement about her daughter growing up, saying she looks forward to the day Imade recognizes her mother as a “baddie.”
Sophia and Davido have been entangled in a bitter custody battle over Imade. In 2022, tensions escalated after Davido publicly moved on with Chioma, his now wife.
In June, Davido filed for joint custody of Imade, claiming Sophia was denying him access and extorting money. Sophia denied these allegations and countered that Davido was unfit to co-parent, citing his past actions.
Sophia also clashed with Davido’s aide, Isreal DMW, who attributed her financial independence and efforts for Imade to Davido’s wealth. She clarified that she doesn’t rely on the singer for financial support.
