Fast-rising singer Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has dismissed speculations linking him as the father of BBNaija star Nengi’s newborn. This comes after the reality star shocked fans with the announcement of her baby girl’s birth over the weekend.
BBNaija star Nengi left fans in awe when she shared the news of her first child, describing the experience as the “purest form of love.” A video posted from the hospital showed the reality star cradling her newborn daughter, sparking widespread reactions online.
Joining the celebration, Spyro took to Instagram to congratulate Nengi. Sharing a clip of her, he wrote:
“The Angels definitely singing congratulations on this one.”
However, his post prompted several fans to question if he was the child’s father, leading to a wave of speculation in his comment section.
Reacting via his Instagram story, Spyro criticized Nigerians for jumping to conclusions, calling their behavior ignorant. He expressed frustration over the comments, linking them to a mindset that perpetuates inequality:
“Nigerians. Very ignorant set. That is exactly why the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. But then again, what do I even know? Congratulations again, my Nengs.”
This isn’t the first time Spyro has defended or spoken about Nengi. When rumors previously swirled that Nengi was pregnant for a married man, Spyro urged the public to respect her privacy. He described her as “God’s child” with both inner and outer beauty.
Spyro has also openly expressed his admiration for the BBNaija star. Last year, he admitted to having a crush on her and hinted at wanting a relationship. Sharing matching photos of them on Instagram, the singer jokingly prayed for divine guidance, stating:
“I’m still shooting my shot. Holy Spirit, speak to me concerning my crush.”
