Subsidy Protests: Protesters Pull Down National Assembly Gate

The National Assembly gate has been pull down by angry protesters in Abuja.

Joe Ajaero of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Festus Osifo of the Trade Union Congress were leading the demonstrators, who earlier requested security guards stationed at the parliamentary building to open the gates so that the Nigerian workers could enter the complex and vent their resentment.

When the security guards did not follow through, enraged protestors tore down the gates and poured inside the assembly complex to express their rage.
