Taj Jackson, the nephew of Michael Jackson, has taken to Twitter to criticize comedian Chris Rock over a joke he made in his Selective Outrage comedy special on Netflix. In the special, Rock compared Michael Jackson to R. Kelly, which didn’t sit well with Jackson’s family.
Jackson expressed his disappointment and called out Chris Rock for using his family as a “punching bag” throughout his career. He also questioned why Rock constantly bullied and harassed his family, disguised as jokes.
The tweet from Taj Jackson came after a clip of Chris Rock’s special resurfaced, in which he attacked Michael Jackson in the first few minutes. Jackson went on to say that being bullied earlier in life did not give Rock an excuse to bully others.
Michael Jackson was acquitted of child molestation charges in 2005, while R. Kelly was found guilty of sex trafficking and child pornography charges in two different jurisdictions between 2021 and 2022. Michael Jackson passed away in 2009 from a reported drug overdose.
