Taraba State Government has formally renamed the Government House in Jalingo, the state capital, after former Minister of Defense General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma.
The edifice that serves as the state government’s seat of power will now be recognized and addressed as the T.Y. Danjuma House.
Governor Agbu Kefas announced the renaming on Friday at a special event in Jalingo, the state capital.
Kefas praised Danjuma for his dedication to national service, charity, and loyalty to the people of Taraba, citing the former minister’s considerable contributions to Nigeria and crucial role in the state’s growth.
It should be recalled that during the most recent legislative session, members of the state House of Assembly attached their choices to jointly adopt the bill renaming the government House after Danjuma in recognition of his tremendous contribution to the state’s growth.
The retired general expressed appreciation to the state administration for renaming the seat of power after him. He urged Nigerians to work together to achieve speedy growth.
He also underlined the value of unity and peaceful cohabitation beyond political, ethnic, and religious boundaries.
Danjuma was also seen urging the people of the state to unite behind Governor Agbu Kefas and his administration’s efforts to progress the state’s development.
