11 electrical distribution corporations, according to the federal government, have applied for tariff increments.
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, announced this in a notice published on its website.
Recall that there have been hints of a potential increase in the price of power.
In the notification, NERC invited stakeholders—Nigerians—to offer feedback on the DisCos’ requests for rate reviews.
NERC stated that the requirement to reflect the macroeconomic indices and other variables impacting the DisCos’ operations, quality of service, and sustainability followed the necessity for a tariff review.
“Accordingly, the commission hereby invites the general public for comments on the rate review applications by the distribution licensees,” it stated.
