More than 14 terrorists, including the Kingpin, who have been terrorizing several villages in the northwest, have been apprehended by Nigerian military forces affiliated with Operation Hadarin Daji. Coalition forces from the land and air components of the operation killed terrorists during a firefight, clearing forests in several villages in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, Kebbi State.
Major General. Musa Danmadami, while informing journalists at a briefing in Abuja, stated that the army had carried out offensive operations against terrorists’ enclaves and camps.
Danmadami told journalists that the army also arrested at least six informants who provided information to the enemy on how to attack innocent residents of some villages.
He added that the forces engaged in the search operation arrested one suspected ammunition trafficker and two suspected drug traffickers in Kachia town and Wayzata village, respectively, in Kaduna state.
According to the General, “Between 21 to 25 April 2023, troops carried out fighting patrol to villages in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Bungudu, Zurmi and Maradum Local Government Areas of Zamfara State as well as Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State and Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State and made contact with terrorists at these various locations.
“Following a fierce firefight, troops neutralized 14 terrorists, including a notorious terrorists’ kingpin; troops also arrested 30 terrorists’ informants and rescued four kidnapped victims,” the senior military officer said.
The recovered items are 5 AK-47 rifles, one Dane gun, 6 AK-47 rifles magazines loaded with 25 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 6 AGL bombs, three daggers, one loafing radio, five mobile phones, 20 motorcycles, 24 cows, eight donkeys, 180 sheep, 102 goats, two solar panels and the sum of N6,900.00.
