Nigerian singer Timaya and his American girlfriend, Brooke Bailey, have put an end to swirling breakup rumors with a heartwarming gesture.
Speculation about their relationship began when Brooke unfollowed Timaya on Instagram and removed all photos of him from her page. Adding fuel to the fire, Timaya also has no photos of Brooke on his Instagram and isn’t following anyone. However, the couple recently silenced the rumors by reposting a loved-up photo of themselves on their Instagram stories, making it clear that their relationship is still intact.
Timaya and Brooke first sparked romance rumors in December when they were spotted holding hands while boarding a private jet. The viral video had fans buzzing about their relationship. By January, Brooke expressed her love for Timaya in celebration of his 3rd annual hometown festival, showing pride in his dedication to his roots.
Earlier this year, Brooke shared stunning traditional-themed photos with Timaya. Styled by Nigerian celebrity stylist Swanky Jerry, Brooke embodied an Igbo bride while Timaya represented his Bayelsa heritage in regal attire. The pair also affirmed their love for each other in a video shared by Timaya, with the singer humorously warning Brooke about faking her love, joking that “thunder would fire her” if she wasn’t genuine.
In a past interview, Timaya shared his perspective on relationships, explaining why he avoids dating Nigerian women. He stated that while he has no issue with Nigerian girls, he finds their similar upbringing and foundational experiences challenging, often leading to what he described as “toxic” relationships.
Despite their occasional public drama, Timaya and Brooke Bailey seem to remain committed, continuing to showcase their love to the world.
