Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed she is expecting her first child, calling it “the biggest project” and “the highest calling” of her life. In a touching post on Instagram, Toke shared a video proudly showing her baby bump and reflected on how 2025 has already transformed her life.
She expressed gratitude to God for answering her prayers, saying that although she once questioned the delay, she now understands that the timing is perfect. “You make all things beautiful in your time,” she wrote, adding that the journey has reshaped her heart and prepared her for motherhood.
The announcement drew an outpouring of congratulatory messages from colleagues and fans. Stars like Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Tiwa Savage, Omoni Oboli, and AY Makun celebrated her moment, calling it a blessing long desired and well deserved.
However, the joyful news was not without controversy, as a troll suggested her pregnancy might be through surrogacy. Toyin Abraham responded sharply, cursing the critic, while Funke Akindele and Tiwa Savage urged the person to retract the comment. In a subtle response of her own, Toke later posted a photo of her bare baby bump on Snapchat with the caption, “This era is called growing life.”
Toke, who was previously married to fitness coach Maje Ayida until their split in 2016, has often been open about her struggles with marriage, societal expectations, and motherhood. In past interviews and podcast episodes, she encouraged women to embrace their journeys, reminding them that God’s timing is always right.
