Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham stirred reactions during her appearance at the recently concluded Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards held on Sunday, November 25, 2024, at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Toyin, who hosted the star-studded event, caught the attention of many with her seemingly uneasy expression throughout the evening. Dressed modestly in attire resembling that of a Muslim woman, her demeanor led fans to speculate that the cold weather in Ilorin might have been the cause of her discomfort.
Several fans took to social media to voice their observations and concerns:
- Ola Beckky: “Wetin do dis woman?”
- Official Labii: “Is she feeling cold?”
- Nicole Coleman181: “I hope she isn’t on drugs sha.”
- Vickzyf: “I don’t understand.”
- Sahratade: “Cold dey catch her ni?”
Others praised her attire, playfully referring to her as “Hajia Toyin Abraham.” One fan, Okikiola Anirudeen Hammed, expressed joy at the possibility of her converting to Islam.
This isn’t the first time Toyin Abraham has trended for her appearance at public events. Last year, the actress wore a tight-fitting corset to an event, which left her visibly uncomfortable. Toyin later poked fun at herself, quoting the phrase, “fashion is pain.”
In June, the box office star also responded to trolls mocking her body shape after a video of her dancing went viral. Taking the comments in stride, Toyin humorously described herself as a “shapeless woman” resembling “Amoeba and Johnny Bravo.” She used the moment to assert her confidence and unbothered attitude toward body-shaming.
Toyin Abraham has consistently maintained a strong stance against online bullying. In a previous statement, the mother of two warned her fans against attacking her trolls, emphasizing that she draws strength from her faith and is unshaken by negativity.
