Traditional rulers in Abia State have pledged their full support for Governor Alex Otti’s development initiatives, commending his administration’s efforts in transforming the state.

The monarchs, under the umbrella of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, expressed their endorsement during a meeting with the governor, where they highlighted the positive impact of his policies on infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

The royal fathers praised Otti’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusive development, noting that his projects have begun to yield visible results across the state. They specifically mentioned ongoing road constructions, the revitalisation of public institutions, and efforts to improve security as key achievements of the administration.

Governor Otti, in response, thanked the traditional leaders for their support and assured them that his government would continue to collaborate with them to ensure grassroots development.

He emphasised the importance of traditional institutions in maintaining peace and fostering community engagement, describing them as critical partners in governance.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for the monarchs to present community-specific requests, including the need for more rural healthcare facilities and educational support. Otti promised to address these concerns, reiterating his administration’s focus on equitable development across all regions of the state.

The endorsement from the traditional rulers is seen as a significant boost for Otti’s administration, reinforcing the legitimacy of his programmes and strengthening community trust in government policies. Their backing is expected to further enhance cooperation between the state government and local communities in driving sustainable development.
