Brentford has signed Nigerian defender Benjamin Frederick to a permanent deal.

Last summer, Frederick joined the Bees on loan from Kaduna’s Simoiben Academy with the option to buy.

The London club has now chosen to exercise the buy option, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

The deal will be good until June 2028.

The 18-year-old excelled throughout his one-year stay with Brentford’s reserve squad.

Frederick played for Nigeria’s U-20 team at the U-20 World Cup in Argentina last year.

The Flying Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated with a 1-0 loss to South Korea.
