The late President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, was put to rest at his country residence Atta in Ikeduru LGA, Imo State, with tributes from renowned Nigerians.
The country house of the late leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo was alive with activity as Nigerians from all walks of life gathered at Umuohi Atta in Ikeduru LGA to pay their last respects to the late President General.
In a burial ceremony held at the Diocese of Ikeduru, the Primate of the Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Rev.bHenry Ndukauba, characterized the late Iwuanyanwu as a bold leader who constantly advocated for the general well-being of common residents, particularly in the southeast area.
Primate Ndukauba revealed that the late Iwuanyanwu never looked the other way on issues affecting Ndigbo, stating that he stood on the side of truth while underlining how the southeast area is regarded as second-class people.
The Man of God stated that it would be extremely difficult for Ndigbo to have someone like Iwuanyanwu, who he claims has never stopped working for the advancement of the Igbo race in Nigeria.
Ndukauba hoped that God would supply Ndigbo with someone like the late leader, who would always speak truth to power until the right thing was done.
In his homage, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Secretary of the Federation, George Akume, stated that Iwuanyanwu was a real patriot and national leader who advocated for national unity through his many accomplishments.
