Trump Calls for Death Penalty in Murder of Charlie Kirk

US President Donald Trump has stated that he hopes the suspected killer of Charlie Kirk will receive the death penalty.

The comments came during a live television appearance following the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who was taken into custody by the FBI after a two-day manhunt in the state of Utah.

Robinson was apprehended after his father, Matt Robinson, turned him in to the authorities. According to law enforcement officials, the elder Robinson extracted a confession from his son regarding the shooting.

He subsequently contacted a clergyman, who then informed the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. US Marshals arrested the suspect at 10 p.m. local time.

Speaking during an interview on Fox TV, President Trump expressed his strong views on the case. He stated that he expects the suspect to be found guilty and emphasized his support for capital punishment in this instance.

Describing Charlie Kirk as one of the finest individuals, Trump noted that the victim was widely respected, worked diligently, and was well-liked by everyone who knew him.

Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old father of two, was shot and killed on the campus of Utah Valley University on Wednesday. The gunman used a hunting rifle to fire a single shot, resulting in Kirk’s death. The incident has drawn significant public and political attention, highlighting ongoing debates surrounding justice and appropriate punishment for violent crimes.
