Prof. Wahab Egbewole, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (Unilorin), said that the university has produced 36 patents to influence society and promote the nation.

The vice chancellor made the statement on Saturday in Ilorin, while addressing during the institution’s combined 37th and 38th convocation ceremonies (2021/2022).

He stated that the patents were created in collaboration with the Federal Government through the National Office of Technology Acquisition and Promotion to support research and innovation.

According to Egbewole, the number of patents were developed in various professions, including medicine, agriculture, engineering, and information technology.

Unilorin, he says, is devoted to cultivating a culture of excellence, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

The vice chancellor said that the institution’s alumni are prepared to make substantial contributions to nation-building.

Egbewole stated that the university’s outstanding accomplishments in terms of ranking were credited to the hard work and devotion of staff and students.

He exhorted the grads to be polite and to seek information at all times.

Also, 10,757 graduates were handed first degrees, diplomas, postgraduate diplomas, and PhDs during the ceremony.
