Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo has acknowledged the need to step up his performance for Liverpool following his £19 million transfer to Anfield from Stuttgart.

The 30-year-old has swiftly integrated into Jurgen Klopp’s squad, making appearances against Bournemouth and Newcastle United.

Endo’s introduction into the Premier League lineup has been a subject of intrigue, having started against Newcastle after making his debut as a substitute against Bournemouth.

However, in the recent game against Newcastle, he was substituted just before the hour mark. Speaking to LFC TV, Endo reflected on the challenges he’s facing, especially after both of his appearances saw Liverpool reduced to 10 men due to red cards.

While Endo acknowledged the difficulty of the recent match, he emphasized his commitment to improvement, both individually and as part of the team’s performance. Looking ahead, Liverpool is set to face Aston Villa before the September international break.

Endo’s arrival at Liverpool has raised curiosity among fans, with hopes that he will find his footing in the Premier League soon.

Klopp’s decision to field him from the start underscores the manager’s confidence in the Japanese midfielder’s abilities. As Liverpool continues its campaign, all eyes will be on Endo’s progress and his contribution to the team’s success in the upcoming fixtures.
