Festus Osifo, President of the Trade Union Congress, said on Wednesday that Nigerians paying exorbitant energy rates was immoral.
The TUC also requested the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission to rescind the hike in electricity tariffs within a week.
Speaking at the 2024 Workers’ Day in Abuja, Osifo voiced frustration with the country’s epileptic power condition, which is impeding economic development.
He stated that any country that is unable to adequately and efficiently manage its energy resources will face definite disaster.
