The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has reiterated its commitment to campaigning for workers in Rivers state.
Joe Ajaero, NLC National President, made the announcement during the NLC National Executive Council meeting in Rivers State on Friday.
Ajaero further warned that the NLC would not stand by and watch workers suffer in the state.
He said that the NLC would strongly fight any activities that may jeopardize the payment of workers’ salaries in Rivers State.
The NLC president encouraged the court to avoid steps that might lead to self-destruction and warned against making judgments that could destabilize the state.
Recalls that a Federal High Court recently ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria and other financial institutions to stop giving the Rivers State Government access to state funds.
